Directions (from Albany):
From “Foot” of I-87/Northway (“Crossgates Mall”)
Follow Route 20 West for several miles (beyond Rte 155 intersection)
to intersection with Route 146 West.
Make a LEFT onto Route 146 West.
(This is the LEFT-hand turn just AFTER “Western Turnpike Golf Course”…
and just BEFORE a Stewart’s Ice Cream Shop/Valvoline Instant Oil
Change at this intersection.)
Follow Route 146 West through Guilderland Center into the
Village of Altamont. You’ll pass the entrance to the Altamont
Fairgrounds & Ron’s Citgo Service Center. Instead of following
Route 146 when it veers in a right-angle turn to the right, continue
straight over the Railroad Tracks past the Ketchum’s Sunoco gas
station and Stewart’s Ice Cream Shop and the road becomes Route 156.
Follow Route 156 up the Hill (angled right) past Stewart’s (Funeral
Home on left and Butcher Shop on right). Continue up the hill
past Clickman Insurance Agency and follow Route 156 for several
miles into the town of Knox.
Make a LEFT onto Route 157 (Thompson’s Lake Road) [you’ll see
“Highlands Restaurant” on right.]
Make a RIGHT onto Route 157-A (Warner’s Lake Road).
Make a LEFT at next intersection and Scholt’s/Zwickelbauer’s
is on the Right (parking on both sides of the road…right on Warner’s Lake!)
